Outside of work, I immerse myself in my other passions, all of which appeal to my artistic, creative side: airbrushing, calligraphy, poetry, writing, and guitar.
Before joining Lyssabeth's, I primarily performed weddings for family and friends. Like the other Lyssabeth's officiants, I obtained my ordination solely for the purpose of performing weddings--not to start a ministry or preach a doctrine of any kind. While I deeply enjoyed serving as officiant for the occasional wedding, it wasn't until I saw Maureen in action that I learned that--comparatively speaking--the ceremonies I had been creating were fairly basic in nature.
It was only after I came on board with Lyssabeth's Bay Area Wedding Officiants that I truly began writing and performing ceremonies that were unsurpassed in terms of creativity and uniqueness and that told the heartfelt story of each couple's love. I can honestly say I've never done two ceremonies in exactly the same way. It's such an honor (not to mention fun!) to be included in the most meaningful part of a bride and groom's special day!
I was born and raised in a small town in Nebraska and, even though I've been in the bay area as long as I was in Nebraska, I still consider myself a 'small town boy'. I'm very close to my family even though I'm quite far away from them.
My daytime occupation is as a mechanical designer in a startup company, which allows me to exercise a combination of engineering logic and design creativity. I follow in my Dad's footsteps of being a jack-of-all-trades and being in a startup gives me the chance to tackle multiple tasks and keeps me active. And believe me, I do not have the stereotypical "engineer" personality!
